Cinobac Miscellaneous Notes

  • It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication unless your doctor directs you otherwise.
  • This medication has been prescribed for your current condition only.
  • Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else.
  • A different medication may be needed in those cases.

Medicinal Applications

  • This medication is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections.

Possible Side Effects

  • This medication may cause stomach upset, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache or dizziness during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication.
  • If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your doctor.
  • Notify your doctor if you develop.

Usage Instructions

  • Take each dose with a full glass of water.
  • If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food or milk.
  • Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication.
  • Take this medication 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking any medications containing aluminum or magnesium.
  • Some examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, and antacids.
  • Sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, and zinc are also included.
  • These medications bind with cinoxacin preventing its full absorption.
  • Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level.
  • Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night.
  • Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
  • Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.

Cinobac Storage Instructions

  • Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.

  • If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
  • Symptoms of overdose may include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, and dizziness.

What To Do In Case Of Missed Dose

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered.
  • However, if it is almost time for the next dose and your dosing schedule is 2 per day, space the missed dose and the next dose 5-6 hours apart.
  • If dosing is 3 or more per day, space missed dose and next dose 2-4 hours apart.
  • In any case resume your usual dosing schedule.
