Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Symptoms of overdose may include easy bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, fatigue, severe nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, chest pain, shortness of breath, wheezing, very slow heartbeat, or numbness or tingling in arms, hands, legs, or feet.

Possible Side Effects
- Nausea and vomiting may be severe in some patients.
- Medication may be given prior to and after therapy to help reduce this effect.
- Pain, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, heartburn, change in taste, hiccups, runny nose, trouble sleeping, or hair loss may occur.
- If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
- Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur.
Warning
- Oxaliplatin may very rarely cause severe (sometimes fatal) allergic reactions during the infusion.
- Notify your doctor immediately if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching skin, breathing difficulties, or dizziness.
Eloxatin Storage Instructions
- Store the unmixed vials at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
- Brief storage between 56 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted.
- Once prepared, this medication is stable for only 6 hours at room temperature (59-86 degrees F or 15-30 degrees C) or up to 24 hours when refrigerated between 36 and 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C).
- Check the expiration date on the label and properly discard of any unused medication after that time.
- Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
What To Do In Case Of Missed Dose

- Do not give other IV drugs together with this medication without flushing the IV line.

- Laboratory tests and blood counts will be done routinely while using this medication to monitor its effects and prevent side effects.

- Aluminum reacts with oxaliplatin causing a precipitate.
- Do not use needles or IV sets that contain aluminum parts.
