Overdose

• If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
• Symptoms of overdose may include easy bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, fatigue, severe nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, chest pain, shortness of breath, wheezing, very slow heartbeat, or numbness or tingling in arms, hands, legs, or feet.

Possible Side Effects

• Nausea and vomiting may be severe in some patients.
• Medication may be given prior to and after therapy to help reduce this effect.
• Pain, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, heartburn, change in taste, hiccups, runny nose, trouble sleeping, or hair loss may occur.
• If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Warning

• Oxaliplatin may very rarely cause severe (sometimes fatal) allergic reactions during the infusion.
• Notify your doctor immediately if you experience signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching skin, breathing difficulties, or dizziness.

Eloxatin Storage Instructions

• Store the unmixed vials at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
• Brief storage between 56 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted.
• Once prepared, this medication is stable for only 6 hours at room temperature (59-86 degrees F or 15-30 degrees C) or up to 24 hours when refrigerated between 36 and 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C).
• Check the expiration date on the label and properly discard of any unused medication after that time.
• Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
