Usage Instructions
- This medication works best if taken with or after meals.
- Swallow the capsule whole.
- Do not crush or chew it.
- The capsule may also be opened, the contents sprinkled on a small amount of soft food (for example, gelatin, applesauce) and the food swallowed immediately without chewing.
- Do not mix the contents of the capsule with alkaline foods such as milk or ice cream because the protective coating may dissolve prematurely.
- Antacids may hinder the effects of this medication.
- Do not take an antacid at the same time as this medication.
- Wait at least two hours between administration.
Possible Side Effects
- Generally this medication is very well tolerated and side effects are mild if they occur.
- Diarrhea, cramping or stomach upset may occur when starting treatment.
- If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.
- Although very unlikely to occur, notify your doctor if you develop.
