Medicinal Applications

  • Valdecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and swelling (inflammation), in particular menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea).
  • This drug works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins.
  • Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain and swelling.
