Medicinal Applications
- Propantheline is used, in combination with other medicine, to treat peptic ulcers.
- Do not take propantheline for stomach ache due to gas or for any problem other than the one for which it was specifically prescribed.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Symptoms of overdose may include unusually dry mouth; excessive thirst; nausea; vomiting; difficulty breathing; blurred vision; dilated pupils; flushed, hot, dry skin; muscle weakness; unusual dizziness or drowsiness; restlessness; disorientation; and seizures.
Possible Side Effects
- This medication may cause stomach ache, flushing, problems sleeping, headache, blurred vision, constipation, dry mouth, reduced sweating, drowsiness or thirst.
- If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor.
- Notify your doctor if you develop.
Pro-banthine Storage Instructions
- Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.
- Do not store in the bathroom.

- This medication may also be used for other digestive tract problems (irritable bowel syndrome) and in cases where control over urine flow is desired (for urinary incontinence).
Usage Instructions
- Take this medication 30 minutes before meals.
- Take this medication as prescribed.
- Do not increase the dose or take it more frequently without consulting your doctor.
- Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication unless your doctor directs you otherwise.

- If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
