Medicinal Applications
- This medication is used in people that lack alpha-1- antitrypsin and have developed panacinar emphysema.
Zemaira Miscellaneous Notes
- This medication is prepared from donor plasma.
- It is tested and heat-treated to prevent spread of infectious agents.
- Although there are no cases of hepatitis occurring in patients treated with this medication, there is a slight risk.
- It is recommended that a hepatitis B vaccine be received before using this medication.
Zemaira Storage Instructions
- Store in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C), or at a temperature not to exceed 77 degrees F (25 C).
- Do not freeze.
- Do not refrigerate after mixing.
- Discard unused solution after 3 hours.
Possible Side Effects
- Lightheadedness, dizziness and a slight fever have been reported as a result of this medication.

Usage Instructions
- This medication is given by injection into a vein usually once a week.
Overdose
- If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
What To Do In Case Of Missed Dose
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
- Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
