Medicinal Applications

  • Caspofungin is used to treat a fungal infection of the throat (esophageal candidiasis).
  • It is also used to treat certain serious fungal infections (for example, aspergillosis) in people who cannot tolerate other antifungal medications (for example, amphotericin B, itraconazole).

Cancidas Storage Instructions

  • Store the unmixed/powder vials refrigerated between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C).
  • Do not freeze.
  • Once mixed, the vial is good for one hour at room temperature or refrigerated (less than 77 degrees F or 25 degrees C).
  • Discard any unused portion of the vial.
  • After mixing and subsequent dilution with IV fluids, this product is stable at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) for 24 hours or if refrigerated between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 degrees C) for 48 hours.
